Fun Night Out.

So last night- I got to go out with the girls and have milkshakes- it was a lot of fun and yummy but we had to cut it short cuz' as of lately I've become busy (I know crazy) and I've been scheduling things over other things-not realizing it of course- and so after canceling 3 times before, I decided we'd just do it all last night. The Bastians had went to this museum and found some pretty cool arcitechual details to shoot, so we wanted to go down there and just hang out and take pictures.
The problem was that we didn't get there till almost eight so we had little light and lately I've sucked on focusing so I was trying to practice that and ya-- I came home pretty discouraged over that. But it was just alot of fun hanging out-- There was a restaurant, bar or something that had a live band playing some awesome music next to the museum, it was fun to listen to and just relax in the summer evening air. Brynley was cute and swaying her hips and dancing to the music--
The guys took some of the best pictures that night-- and the Bastians-- I didn't get to many that turned out. All in all it was pretty fun and we're definitly going to have to go out again and just play.

I'm here! I'm here, I swear!

So I have been working on creating a strictly photography blog so I've been blogging just not on here :) And I'm not quite ready to introduce it yet though maybe in a few more days.

Anyways Tonight we had the opportunity to go and take some photo's- and it was so so so fun! They were so cute and had the most adorable little boy. Anywho thought I'd post some sneak peeks-

Editing

So this week has been hard-- I really feel like my life could not be more blessed but for some reason I've been going through a bit of depression- It's kinda crazy and unless you experience it, you don't understand how you can know that things are fine and good but you don't feel that they are- There's a war going on inside your body and you kinda have no control over any of it-- I am crying and lethargic and down but in my mind I know I shouldn't be, that I'm so blessed and that I'm doing an okay job most the time- but than my body comes back with a no your not, your failing at everything, you'll never get anywhere, no one likes you breakdown- let me tell you it's so much fun- and it seems to happen bout once a month :)

Anyways so it's been hard this week and today I'm finally feeling a little bit more like myself (kinda helps that Dave's been home at least half the day to love me even though I'm crazy:))
So today I've enjoyed the kids more and learned a little more in photoshop today- *which seems like it will be a never ending learning journey- it's so powerful and there seems to be all these little new things to discover- I must say though that Illustrator is gradually winning my heart over photoshop, especially in the design sense*
(before- unedited)

I've wanted to learn for awhile how to edit the eyes and make them pop/sparkle a little more so that is what I worked on today and I did a watermark logo for my designs too- I created the photo one a few days ago- Also today I designed another announcement for the biz- hopefully soon- (if I don't have more weeks like this one) I'll get enough samples done to start the biz on etsy. Anyways tell me what you think.(after- I also messed with the curves a little cuz' it was so dark)

Slacker

So I've been slackin off lately- we've been busy lately, buying a home here, and we today signed papers to sell our other house! Wahoo! (insert- me doing the insanely happy crazy dance here)Also I've been working on announcement designs so I can open my etsy store- so that's kept me busy and I've been editing and organizing photo's too and yada yada.Anyways I finally went through my nieces wedding pictures, it was only a month ago now :) she of course looked beautiful and it was so much fun being able to be there for it.But I can always tell when my hubby steals my camera for awhile- he takes some great shots, different views than I would have thought of, but there always ends up being a few crazy shots that make me say- what?- and a picture of my feet- always my feet -?????? is exactly what I think about it.
I have to say I love these pics of Payton, Kinda sums him up when mommy says no, so he has to go rally some support from grandpa :) Payton really misses being close to his grandmas and grandpas- not to mention we miss it too! We're counting down the days till we get to go and visit again.

Helen Hunt Falls

So over the weekend we went and explored Colorado a little bit more. We went with some couples up to Helen Hunt Falls and it was cloudy and kinda drizzling so it was perfect weather for pictures and a small hike. I gotta admit that while I love the beauty of nature, I'm much more intrigued taking pictures of people. So I only got a few shots of "nature" and ya I still think I'm not to good at it. It was a pretty fun trip and it was nice to get to know some more couples that have moved in recently- There were four couples and for some reason I only got pictures of three- but I swear they're were four (sorry Samantha & Mark) The Geddes- Dave, Melissa, & Clay Les & Amy BlakeBryce & Jamie BlakeOn the way home Dave took me on a drive through downtown a little more cuz' I've been looking for a place to shoot some family pictures- anyhow some of it was blah, but we got to one part of town and I was just oohhing and ahhing. It had a lot of the older Craftsman and Victorian homes that are on the tree lane road and just have that old town feel that I love so much. I would so love one of those homes that has so much character and charm, but Dave does not like them really, at all, I guess not so much the homes as it's more the no space/neighbor up your butt factor of those homes. Anyways I've decided I really love it here :) It's beautiful!

P.S. Honey I got proof that your just as baby hungry as I am :)

More Practice

So I was able to get some more practice yesterday, of taking pictures of this little cutie in our ward. She was such a good baby and was just calm and sat there contently- but she refused to go to sleep even though she was so so so tired-- at the last second she finally gave in. It was kinda a challenge since I don't really have very much stuff so we we're pulling different furniture and blankets and stuff from all over the house. I'm very glad Paula brought her over though cuz' it was lots of fun-

If you wanna help me out, you can tell me which one you like the most :)

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

I've just been trying to keep busy so I haven't really took the time to blog much- sorry. Yesterday Melissa came over and I snagged just a few shots of her little cutie. Hopefully I can get my life/brain a little more organized so I'll fit in blogging more :)

Trip Home

So we decided that we would make a quick trip home to suprise Dave's mom, go to our nieces Lizzie's wedding and just see the fam- not to mention visit our good little doggie Tiki, and my parents new dog.

I had forgotten how long of a stinkin drive it was, and how insanely boring driving through Wyoming is. Luckily the kids were pretty darn good for the drive, they didn't whine and Brynley only had to pee twice as much as the rest of us. :)
I wish we could have stayed longer, it felt like we didn't have very much time with the family, and I kinda feel like I need a restful vacation from the vacation it was so busy, but lots of fun 2.

While we were there we took pics at my niece Lizzie's wedding and I got to use my bro-in law Terry's Nikon D80, while Dave shot with my camera. It was pretty fun and I enjoyed using the Nikon though it took me some time to figure out the controls and the light was pretty low so I had the ISO cranked way up and I don't know how Nikon handles that, but hopefully they turned out well- If not there were about four photographers there, I'm sure at least one got some good shots. :) I haven't went through those shots yet, but I'll post some when I do.
On Saturday, me and Dave got to go and shoot some family pics for The Wells, which was tons of fun. I'd forgotten how much I loved to take pics and mess with them afterwords- I'm gonna have to find some family's here in Colorado to practice on so I can keep up on it, and some places to shoot at. (anyone interested?)
Anyways It was tons of fun seeing everyone, Dafne cut and dyed my hair(It really needed a trim but I'm still not to sure about the reddish brown color that it is now) and we got to go to Cafe Rio (which I am jealous that they have one now and we don't) All in all it was a pretty fun weekend, and the drive home wasn't too bad after we got a laptop adapter for the car and I was able to work in Illustrator.

Anyways here's a few pics we took on Saturday.

Just fiddlin and havin fun

My mama will be so proud, I finally made a necklace!
My mom loves making jewelery and has been doing it awhile now, I would always start to make some with her and get the beads picked out but I just could never get into it, and I rarely wear jewelery anyways, so I'd give up. But finally now I've made one! The hardest part was keeping Brynley from stealin all the beads, she loves playing with grandma's beads and I had a hard time keeping her from taking the beads I was trying to work with.

Other than that, life's just been going along, we've just been hangin out as a fam, relaxing and building forts.(Melissa built a fort with our kids when we went to the temple, and Payton is in love with forts now and wants one everyday)

April is flying by.

I looked at the calendar and was in disbelief that it was already the 20th and that we only have a week and a half left of April. I swear it was just conference- And Easter wasn't that long ago was it. O-well I finally loaded the pictures from Easter and was sad to see that I had my ISO at 1600 when I took some pics of Bryn in her dress so they're grainy, O-well I didn't really get any great shots of her in it anyways, even thou I still really like the dress.
We did have lots of fun for Easter(which I guess was a while ago now) we went to the Bastians for a little BBQ and Easter Egg hunt. It was tons of fun for the kids and I'm sorry everyone there that I hoarded all the pico de gallo- I was so craving it. We also had a super small Easter egg hunt on Sunday, It seriously took Payton about 2 min. to find everything that we hid. He was a little bummed when it was over, hopefully next year we'll have a bit more room to hid the eggs.Anyways anyone got any good ideas of what I can do for my hubby, our six year anniversary is coming up this weekend (maybe that's why I'm wishing april would slow down, I don't know what I'm doing yet.) We're gonna try to go to the temple and do some sealings but other than that I'm outta ideas.
